During the month of October we got to meet our team members. During the introductory process we discussed each others strengths and different areas in which we felt we could improve. After the initial meeting phase, we completed a skills matrix in order to assign different jobs to individuals based on our strengths. I personally felt my strengths included hardware development and project management and my assigned roles in the skills matrix reflected this. I did not feel like web design was a strength of mine. However I decided to take on the role as ‘Web Master as I felt the skills developed could be carried over to my professional career and beyond. As a group, we used Microsoft Teams to begin to plan our project and also set up a whats-app group for communication outside of lab time. As part of the Microsoft Teams interface we also created different buckets labelled ‘Deliverables,’ ‘To-Do,’ ‘Work in Progress’ and ‘Done’. This allows for easy to read task progress and also enables us to set deadlines for the marked sections.
