The month of April was very much a month of finalising our mouse. We finished all the shell, sensors and programming. It was then time to go to Gregynog Hall for our assessment. It was here that we wrote our presentation and made small tweaks to the programming to give us the best chance to compete in all of the assessments. During our time there, we had a technical inspection, Combat demonstration, obstacle avoidance demonstration and the combat finals where we competed against other mice produced by our classmates. We were unfortunately knocked out in the quarter-finals of the tournament. however, we walked away with the obstacle avoidance trophy, mainly due to our fantastic ultrasonic range finders. While I am glad to be done, it is a shame that the task work has finished. The project was enjoyable and threw up its fair share of problems, all of which will help me when I graduate from uni.
