Zou Yi – December blog: Personal Statement of Commitment to Ethical Principles

In terms of engineer ethics, the two most important things for students today are honesty and integrity and accuracy and rigor. In this area, I usually take action in this area. First of all, when I design works, I always follow my own design ideas as the principle, and will not directly copy others’ works, but I will still make reference to some excellent design places. In terms of accuracy, I often check and test every detail again to prevent mistakes from happening in use, leading to major mistakes. However, in terms of leadership and communication, I feel inadequate. Although I just formed a team, I rarely communicate with other team members on my own design. Even though I know that I can get valuable help, I need to improve this point in the future, which is also necessary for my future work. Now let’s talk about my attitude towards work in the future. I have to mention the principle of respecting life, law, environment and public interests, which is also the direction I need to follow as an engineer in the future. Life and the environment are similar aspects, and the respect and protection of the two are also the guarantee of our living circle, which is an indispensable part of the design. The law is the one guarantee of our moral bottom line, and the only explicit and practical limit. The public interest is related to the social ecology, is the network of relationships between people, the damage to this network, will also lead to the breakdown of their own social relations.

The following is the literature I read in my search, which helped me a lot in my thinking.
