Josh’s EDI:
Working on a group project with teammates from different backgrounds initially seemed like a challenge. I was unsure how different mindsets and communication styles would affect the team. However, I quickly realised that this diversity was one of our biggest strengths.
Each team member brought unique perspectives and skills, which led to creative problem-solving and efficient task distribution. We made sure everyone had a voice in discussions and that responsibilities were assigned fairly, based on individual strengths and interests. This inclusive approach helped build mutual respect and kept everyone engaged.
There were occasional challenges like misunderstandings or different expectations around deadlines, but we overcame these through open communication and flexibility. The experience showed me how EDI fosters a positive, professional environment and leads to better teamwork and results.

Khizar’s EDI:
Implementing Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) within our team has brought both challenges and benefits. Personally, one of the main challenges was adapting to more inclusive communication and becoming more aware of unconscious biasness. The team already respected each other’s background and cultures so getting along was flawless. Everyone was comfortable with each other and that enabled the team to perform much better than if there was a negative EDI agenda.
For the team, since EDI was practically already respected, the team member’s skills and ideas were easily identifiable by communicating. This aided with moving forward with the project and tackling any issues that rose.
The benefits have been clear. EDI has helped adopt a more inclusive and respectful work environment where everyone feels valued. Diverse perspectives have led to more efficient solutions and better teamwork. Personally, I feel heard and more confident to be myself at work, and I’ve seen my colleagues do the same. Overall, EDI has strengthened our team culture and improved how we work together.
