White Line Following

The white line following was done successfully by utilising LDRs (light dependent resistors). The LDRs would detect a change in colour, either black or white, and the resistance would change. From this, the threshold value was calculated and with a bit of coding, the MicroMouse was able to follow the straight line as shown in the link. Getting the seesaw to work was a bit of a challenge, due to the fact that we had multiple conductive strips (where the LDRs were placed) that didn’t respond to a change in light, when measured. The code was also a bit challenging to get working since we were the first year to use it and there wasn’t as much information as there was for other components.

Overall, the white line following mode worked as we expected. The Micromouse would go around the line accurately and swiftly.
