In November we all attempted designing a PCB for the micro mouse and decided Sam’s PCB was the best out of the bunch. We then testing our breadboard for its IR light distance balance between the left and right sensor. Our breadboard layout ended up interfering with the IR sensors and did not get the best results. Via the assistance of David Moody and Saptarsi Ghosh, we solved that issue and got a reasonable reading range from our IR sensors by adjusting their position in the circuit and tilting them upwards to avoid the pins on the breadboard.
For the upcoming weeks of November, we will focus on printing out and drilling our PCB then switching the components from our breadboard to our printed PCB. Its design and special features will also be discussed between the team and finalised soon.
