This month we made good progress. The micromouse is almost completed and we should be able to have the product ready for the trip to Gregynnog. The features we focussed on this month included the finished PCB, the shell design, and the coding.
Hafiz designed the shell to add space for the touchbars, the sensors and our LEDs. Additionally, we added an Adafruit SH1106 OLED screen to the micromouse, which allows us to add various graphics. Hafiz added a section for the OLED screen to be placed and a way of accesssing the power and reset buttons while the shell is on.
Jamie finished the soldering of the PCB and started working on the presentation for the micromouse.
Ibrahim added some documentation for the website detailing the white-line sensors and the IR sensors PCB.
I worked on implementing the white line sensors and the IR sensors with the code to make sure it functions correctly. I programmed the OLED screen to display a menu which easily allows for controlling which mode the micromouse will boot into. Additionally, I have completed the coding on the obstacle avoidance and white-line following sections of the micromouse. I have started working on the combat mode function of the micromouse, which allows the micromouse to spin around and move to try to locate opponents. Future additions to this code will be adding a radar map to demonstrate what the micromouse sees and adding functions to prevent the micromouse from escaping the arena.
