Having read through the Ethical Principles issued in 2005 by the Royal Academy of engineering, it is clear that there are several principles that all engineers should abide by. These principles include honesty and integrity, respect for life, law and the public good, as well as being accurate and taking leadership and communicating.
As a student and future professional engineer I will observe and follow these closely, when it comes to the principle of honesty and integrity I should hold myself to a high standard. This could be meet by acting to avoid issues such as improper influence and/or bribery. As well as declaring any conflicts of interest in my work.
