Throughout the timeline of the assessment, I ensured that new content was added to website when we reached project milestones and also, that the monthly blog updates were posted. Here’s how we approached it with sustainability in mind:
I ensured that any media files that were uploaded were compressed and resized to only what was needed.
Then I minimized data transfers rather than uploading files one-by-one, we batched website content updates together into fewer deployment packages to reduce data transfers and footprints.
As for the content writing for the monthly blogs, we avoided unnecessary media embeds, ensured that the writing was concise and that the formatting was accessible. This reduced file payload sizes and data footprint.
In summary, the plan was mainly to create the necessary navigation tabs for the deliverables, and then update the website and add more information at milestone stages.
