October kicked off our journey into building a micro-mouse, and the excitement has been growing ever since! Dr. Jobling and Dr. Davies started us off with a few sessions explaining the project’s objectives, giving us a clear view of the challenges and opportunities ahead. Afterward, we jumped into a team roles exercise that helped us understand each other’s strengths and areas for growth. From there, we were grouped into teams of four, carefully matched to balance our skills and make sure everyone brings something unique to the table.
Our first big task was to create a project plan, where we outlined all the steps needed to bring our micro-mouse to life. Each team member was assigned specific tasks, along with deadlines to keep us on track. The main goal of this plan is to help us stay organized and efficient, making sure we meet our milestones along the way. With our plan in place, Juan and Charlie got started on constructing the IR circuit, while Josh and I took on building the project website. By the end of October, we dove into designing the PCB circuit using Proteus software, making solid progress on this crucial part of the project.
Overall, October was an exciting month that set the stage for our project. It introduced us not only to the goals and tasks ahead but also to our team members, who have already shown themselves to be both hardworking and resilient. Meeting and working with such a dedicated group has been a great start to this journey!
