As a student member of the IET, I am dedicated to preserving the ethical principles set forth by the RAE and the EC. These principles guide my actions now and will continue to do so throughout my future career as a professional engineer. I commit to being truthful and maintaining high moral standards in all my professional ventures. I will act in a reliable and trustworthy manner, declaring conflicts of interest and avoiding deception. Respect for life, law and environment is crucial for human development which is why I will comply with all applicable laws and regulations, prioritizing the health and safety of others. My goal is to contribute to the public good while minimizing adverse effects on the environment. I will ensure my work is precise and thorough, adhering to the highest standards of technical competence and professional behaviour as well as promoting ethical behaviours and traits, in accordance with the values and expectations of the IET. Furthermore, the engineering ethics toolkit by the engineering professors council provides valuable guidance in to help integrate ethics into education and training.
