Our infra-red sensors formed a key part of our Obstacle avoidance task & Combat mode, as its function was to detect when our micro-mouse is very close to a wall and from our code would identify this as an area to avoid. The circuit consisted of 2 infra-red sensors placed at the front left & right of our micro-mouse, from this 1 of 3 different scenarios would arise, When:
- The Left sensor detects a wall, would brake, turn 90 degrees clockwise.
- The Right sensor detects a wall, would brake, turn 90 degrees anticlockwise.
- Both sensors detected a wall, would brake, turn 180 degrees and continue in the opposite direction.
