October Blog – Rhys Washer 982157

The first month of our group project has gone very well. Each team member has put themselves forwards for certain roles based on their personal skills, and while we are generally keeping to these roles we are stepping outside of them to help eachother with certain tasks. So far we’ve built a breadboard circuit with two IR sensors, started on the website for our project, and created a chassis for the mouse with wheels and the arduino circuit board.

I was interested primarily in programming the micromouse, but for the past few weeks I have been creating the breadboard circuit for the eye sensors of the mouse. I found the circuit we had to create quite complicated and made some mistakes, but we worked together as a team to get it completed and it now functions exactly as it should. The circuit required a lot of different components, and Tay managed to get all of them while organising them well enough to make it a lot easier to build the breadboard with all the parts. I believe that really helped us out and allowed us to create the circuit in a much more efficient way.
