Bernice’s Statement

As a professional engineer, ethics is essential in different area throughout the professional journey. The Royal Academy of Engineering (RAE) and the Engineering Council (EC) state in their ethical principles that engineers should be aware of and follow these principles. The IET also in their Rules of Conduct underline the importance of ethical behaviour and individuals must act with respect and integrity. These rules provide a framework to help engineers uphold ethical standards.

Personally, honesty and integrity is the most important for being professional. I am committed to consistently being respectful to others and acting reliably. This includes respecting other team members’ opinions and being organised. Besides, the commitment to accuracy and rigour are vital in electrical engineering to ensure the safety and effectiveness of my work. I endeavoured to uphold high standards by constantly learning new knowledge and skills during the lab as well as following the rules, such as understanding the theory of the components used in this project and using goggles when soldering iron. Following these principles can assist in fostering trust within the team and enhance the quality of work.
