This month has been the busiest on them all, the final rush before the Gregynog hall assessments! The team members of Team Juliet have all been busy this month.
Henry’s design was brilliant, however, an issue arose with the lockable head, which meant the head was not able to get on. I spent a number of hours with a drill and dremel to try to fix the latch mechanism. In the end, we resorted to reprinting the head of the shell, which improved upon the issues we had, however, I still had my work cut out for me. After the shell was working, I painted the shell. After the shell was painted, we put it on the MicroMouse and checked the IR sensors positioning.
Ethan began to work on the new thresholds and for the IR sensors quickly, as well as the final version of the combat code. We integrated a menu onto the MicroMouse to select between each of the modes, with inspiration from Team Delta’s mouse.
I quickly had to resolder the wires to an old white-line sensor that we had, for the rear, for the combat mode.
Salman started to work on the documentation and Henry worked with Ethan and I closely to assist us wherever.
Gregynog visit:
This month has seen great progress in our micromouse all coming together. The work we all put in has paid off, and the micromouse performed really well. The micromouse was assessed in combat, obstacle avoidance and white line following, in which it did very well. The technical inspection was good too, showing off many of our extra features.
I wrote the presentation while we were all together up in Gregynog as a team and polished it up, for the assessment day!
Our final task is to complete the website and have everything uploaded, and all the documentation completed by the deadline.
