We’ve made significant progress this month towards the project, the most notable area being the development of a prototype PCB for the infrared sensors. Additionally, the code has undergone modifications to make it more compatible with the micro-mouse’s hardware, overcoming an issue we were having with the right wheel being out of sync with the left.

Additionally, potential ideas have been though of regarding the special feature we plan to implement. Ideas so far are a built in Bluetooth speaker, a secondary control board and using deep reinforcement learning to attempt to optimise the actual control logic of the bot, rather than rely on our own foresight. The last idea will be quite a stretch to pull of, but is certainly worth at least considering, as successful implementation would offer us a significant advantage in combat mode.
