April – Edward L-S

Throughout April I was focused on getting everything finalised and working, making sure that all the different modes were coded properly and working. Having just got the shell back we had to ensure that the screen would fit inside the designated space, it didn’t quite fit which I had to sand down the edges to ensure that it would sit flush within the shell. As we had four modes on our micro-mouse including combat, obstacle avoidance, white-line following and the game for our special feature I had to make sure that the touch bar sensors would be able to trigger the desired mode. This meant all the touch bar logic had to be utilised, left, right, both and none. The majority of the work in April was just pulling all the different aspects together and making sure everything worked properly as intended making small tweaks to the code optimising things that changed. For example, when adding the shell it massively changed the white-line following so new speeds had to be picked to make sure it would work properly. Furthermore, working on documenting everything we had done throughout the project and making sure it was uploaded to the website in preparation for Gregynog.
