Inspiration
The design inspiration for this shell mainly comes from the Pokémon Ball.
Design CAD
Constructing a similar shape based on the shape of its shell in the first version.
Optimisations
Being mainly designed it into two parts, one is the main shell and the other is the cover. In order to consider sustainability and environmental issues, I mainly control the thickness of the inner wall to around 1 centimeter, and try to simplify the design to avoid unnecessary and complex structures. However, this also makes the shell more stable and concise. The cover I designed can be disassembled and installed, and there is a groove at the bottom to use plastic rope to fix it and reduce the use of other adhesives, which is also convenient for disassembly. In order to facilitate the installation of the casing and microscope, I made a long slit in the center of the front of the main body for the IR sensor to work. Later, I also made a circular hole at the top of the cover and left a square groove on the outside just enough to install our planned display screen.
Result
In short, after the shell is made, we install it on the microscope and the size fits very well. Finally, due to installation sequence and time constraints, we could only use a pure blue color, but we added some cartoon stickers to make it less monotonous. In the competition, the shell remained stable and sturdy after a long and intense confrontation, and achieved good results. I think this is a good result.
