Within our project sustainability was something we needed to consider, and we did this by making sure all the components, and materials used could either be reused or recycled. The list of components used and our plan to recycle them is below:
- Battery can be used again as it can be recharged
- Touch bars can be carefully desoldered, and then used again
- The motors can be removed easily as they are only connected using screws and washers
- All the minor components such as screws, washers can easily be used again after removing them
- The wires can easily be reused for another project or circuit design, including the IIC connectors.
- The seesaw board can also be desoldered and reused, could be for future micromouse projects or a different project
- The OLED can also be used again
- The shell design was 3D printed and made from plastic, this could be recycled
- The ‘micromouse’ as a whole could potentially be reused as an example, or a teaching aid for the future of the project
Our plan to maintain the website will be to check it weekly throughout the assessment period, looking for things like comments, or just checking for mistakes. We will also make sure our website contains all the information it needs to, and all the information is correct. Tristan
